Katie’s university workshops and lectures provide students with practical, joyful methods to translate dramatic analysis from flat page to living, breathing stage.

Embracing the notion that art requires investigation of story and self, Katie’s guest-teaching pairs structural analysis tools from Konstantin Stanislavski, Eleanor Fuchs and Suzan-Lori Parks with visual and physical interpretation ideas from by Ming Cho Lee, Tina Landau and Faye Simpson.

Katie has guest-lectured or been a symposium speaker for Colgate University (Hamilton, NY), Hobart & William Smith Colleges (Geneva, NY), Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) and Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences and School of Art. Her guest-teaching collaboration with CENTRO University for Design (Mexico City) has developed into an ongoing partnership with Syracuse University for students at both schools to co-create a production together each year.
